But The Gambia hit back with two first-half goals to level it up, then Ebrima Colley scored twice after the break — the second deep into stoppage time — to seal a devastating 4–2 win for the visitors.

Norgbey said the committee has not yet drawn any conclusions and wants to get full clarity on what’s going wrong before making recommendations. He stressed: “We are not calling for the GFA to be dissolved at this stage — we need to understand the full picture first.”

Broader review sought
Separately, members of the Youth and Sports Committee have called for a wider parliamentary inquiry covering football governance, national team preparation, infrastructure — and issues stemming from Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, according to 3News.

They want both the GFA and the National Sports Authority to provide detailed briefings on football development, management, logistics and stakeholder coordination. No date has yet been set for those hearings.

Queiroz exit adds to upheaval
The political scrutiny comes as Ghana confirmed a change in the dugout: Reuters reported today that head coach Carlos Queiroz has left his post in the wake of the two opening losses.

His departure leaves big questions unanswered — over whether the team’s struggles stem from technical decisions, administrative failings, or lack of government support. MPs say their inquiry will aim to separate those responsibilities and identify exactly where accountability lies.

Parliament’s Sports Committee plans to question the GFA and Sports Minister after Ghana lost its opening two 2027 AFCON qualifiers.

[5
92,293,231,294,292
post-1136","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports","tag-black-stars","tag-ernest-henry-norgbey","tag-ghana-football-association","tag-parliament-of-ghana","tag-sports-ministry
["GET
